Q. Why are volunteer hours required and how many?
LPA was founded on the premise that the contribution of parents is at the core of a strong community and school. It's a term the ancient Greeks called paideia (pronounced pie - day - a), which simply means the culture of a community, or more specifically, the ideal rearing and education to be a contributing a member of society. As parents contribute the Legacy paideia becomes stronger and united.

We require a minimum of 40 hours per family or 20 hours for a single parent family per year.

This program is on the Honor System; we trust that when you accept enrollment you are happily accepting the opportunity to help out where necessary in the LPA community.  All family members are welcome to help you complete these hours from grandparents to aunts, uncles and friends.  There are lots of opportunities that can be done at home and in the evening.
