Connect and Compute - Free Technology Summer Initiative

My name is Rebecca Ma and I am part of an organization called connect&compute that aims to provide more technological learning opportunities for schools that may not have access to them. With the money we have raised so far (over $2,000) through sales and support from companies such as VSCO, we are able to purchase refurbished laptops to install at our partner schools. We teach students basic functionality in applications like Microsoft, Scratch, and other learning tools.
This summer, we will be launching a free, online summer initiative (through Zoom) to keep our programming running through the pandemic and we would love to have students at Legacy Preparatory Academy participate. Starting around the end of June and lasting to the beginning of August, the initiative will consist of multiple fun workshops and speaker series that aim to teach students different tech skills and introduce them to potential career options in the tech field. This initiative is best fit for elementary and middle schoolers, but anyone is welcome to join. Our website has the program schedule and all the links necessary to sign up for the workshops and speaker series. After signing up, we will send more information to the individual (Zoom invitation, anything needed to prepare for the designated workshop, donation link) as the workshop/speaker series date approaches. Additionally, everyone who signs up will be entered into a raffle to win a connect&compute hoodie, stickers, and other merchandise. I have also attached a flyer to this email that provides information. It would be great if you could forward this message to your parent community and students at Legacy Preparatory Academy via email. If you have any questions, please let me know and I’ll be happy to discuss. Stay safe!
