Back-to-School Essentials will provide you with the necessary information to be prepared for your students upcoming school year. Both Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Section 504 plans can offer formal help for K-12 students who qualify for services. Join us to learn about each plan, the differences between the plans and how it is helpful in assisting students with a variety of learning challenges. In addition, we will be discussing what happens if you disagree with the school team. This event will be offered online via Zoom.

Does your child have sensory processing difficulty? What does that even mean? Come join us for a presentation on sensory processing and school-based needs. We will provide information on the science of sensory processing, appropriate
identification of needs in relation to school functioning and how to address these needs as an IEP team. Perhaps even learn a bit about your own sensory processing patterns as well! Offered virtually through Zoom.

Transition University is designed for parents and youth ages 13 and up. It will get you started on the important steps for transitioning from school to adult life. Topics include disability rights, advocacy, education, daily living, community, employment, safety, healthcare, supported decision making and guardianship. You can register for in person or Zoom attendance. Don't miss this great opportunity to engage and plan for your future!

Help your children succeed by teaching them a growth mindset. In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment. Virtually all great people have had these qualities. Come learn how to teach your kids, and maybe yourself, how to have a growth mindset.
