Legacy Preparatory Academy is excited to present DreamWorks Shrek the Musical Jr. in March! Auditions for the 5th and 6th-grade after-school musical will be held on Tuesday, December 5th from 4:00-7:00 pm in the Building 2 Auditorium.
Students interested in auditioning for the musical should plan to attend the audition clinic on Monday, December 4th from 3:00- 4:00 pm in the Building 2 Auditorium.
IMPORTANT DATES & INFORMATION
AUDITION CLINIC | Monday, December 4th, 3-4 PM in the Bldg 2 Auditorium
Come learn the callback dance and learn more about the show and characters. I will also be answering any questions about the audition process.
AUDITIONS | Tuesday, December 5th, 4-7 PM in the Bldg 2 Auditorium
Auditions will run in 15-minute increments, with 5 students auditioning at a time. Please sign up for an audition time HERE.
Your student is expected to have a 1-minute song prepared from a musical. They need to bring their own karaoke track to sing with. This means there can be no one else singing on the track, just the instrumentals. This can also be shared via Google Drive or emailed to Ms. Stitt at [email protected]
Please have them bring an 8x10 Headshot, their filled-out and signed Audition Form, and Conflict Calendar. Any conflicts that are not listed on the conflict calendar may not be honored and will count toward their three unexcused absences.
CALLBACKS | Thursday, December 7th, 3-5 PM in the Bldg. 2 Auditorium
A callback list will be sent out by Wednesday afternoon with a part for them to practice for callbacks. This will also be when everyone performs the dance they learned at the Audition Clinic.
Please note: If your student is called back for a certain role, that does not mean they are not being considered for other roles in the play.
PARENT MEETING | Thursday, December 14th, 5:00 PM in the Bldg. 2 Auditorium
This meeting will give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the play. We will go over rehearsal expectations and what you can expect as a parent. This will also be a great opportunity for you to let me know if you have any skills you would like to volunteer for our production.
REHEARSALS
Rehearsals will be held after school on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM. Extra rehearsals may be added as needed. As we near the end of our production, please note our Tech & Dress rehearsals on the Production Calendar.
BAND APP
You can join our Band App HERE. This will be used as the main form of communication. I will post rehearsal videos, music tracks, rehearsal schedules, and any announcements here.
FEES
There is a $100 fee to participate in the school musical. This is due by December 20th. Please contact Ms. Reese with any questions about fees & fee waivers.
