There are very few elementary schools in America where students receive 90 minutes of art per week. Students at Legacy Prep get 45 minutes of Art History and 45 minutes of Fine Arts. The arts are also integrated into each grades STEM, History, and Literature lessons throughout the year.
In our art/drawing classes, students are taught through a proven methodology of drawing which utilizes black markers. Our Artists are privileged to use oil and chalk pastels, watercolors, prisma-colors, charcoals, graphites and acrylics. These materials are expensive and our students are taught to respect materials, school property, and uniforms.
We encourage our staff to educate our students with truth, to live goodness, and recognize beauty. The combination of these classically based pillars allows students to become creative thinkers and performers.
