Enrollment FAQ

You're invited to our Monthly Enrollment Interest Meetings!

To learn more about Legacy Preparatory Academy, we invite you to attend one of our monthly Enrollment Interest Meetings. These meetings are designed to acquaint you with our school's environment, curriculum, and extracurricular activities, and answer any questions you may have about the enrollment process. During the meeting, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about our school's mission, values, and educational philosophy.
  • Gain insights into the curriculum and academic programs offered.
  • Explore the various extracurricular activities and clubs available for students.
  • Understand the enrollment process and important deadlines.

No, Legacy is a free public charter school and does not charge tuition to attend

Since the number of applicants exceeds the established ceiling, students are selected by lottery. When a student is chosen in the lottery, siblings of the applicant (within the same household) are also invited for admission, provided there are openings into requested grades. Enrolled students are given preference for re-enrollment. Siblings of admitted students are given preference relative to other applicants

Enrollment in the lottery is for new students only, including siblings of current students. Submit an application to enroll in the lottery on the Enroll Now page.

New students wishing to enroll in Legacy Preparatory Academy for the following school year need to apply during open enrollment which begins annually on the first Monday in November of the current year.

After the first lottery run, we will continue to accept applications. Spaces will be offered as they become available.

The Lottery is random. Siblings of current students and children of employee's are given priority in the lottery.

By law, we have two priority statuses in the lottery system.

  • The sibling of an existing LPA student attending the school.
  • The child of a staff member at our school.

There is not a numbered waitlist. The lottery is randomized each time it is run.

Parents or guardians will be notified by email if their student has been accepted.

No, you must submit a new application for every school year. You can easily copy your old application for the new school year from the parent portal once the new year enrollment opens.

Typically, you need to let your child's current school know you're changing schools. (You may ask the principal or front office staff for the appropriate form.) You may also ask LPA to request the documents from your previous school.

  • Student’s original birth certificate
  • Student’s immunization record
  • Kindergarten Only - Student’s completed vision screening (within the last 12 months)
  • Parent’s government issued photo ID

Once you have turned in all required documents, and have registered the parents and child(ren) in Aspire, your child may be enrolled. Students can begin attending after enrollment.
