Legacy Preparatory Academy's Spelling Bee will take place on February 5, 2021.
We will continue to follow the precedent of each Elementary school sending their top 3 spellers to the North or South End Spelling Bee held in late March, then the top 15 spellers from each of those Spelling Bees will compete at the Final Spelling Bee in mid-April. Students in 4th-6th Grade will compete in Legacy's Spelling Bee.
There have been many inquiries into how to include those students who won their school Spelling Bees last year and were prepared to compete at the Final Spelling Bee that was cancelled. We have thought through all the possibilities but have decided there is no fair way to include them in this year’s competition. If they are still within the grade level limits, their studying last year will be a great advantage to them as they compete again. We apologize for the disappointment this may cause and wish there was some way to accommodate those who are too old now to compete this year
