Age of participants:
1st through 6th-grade students.
Will my 1st grader compete against a 6th grader?
No, there are three categories.
- 1st-2nd grade.
- 3rd-4th grade.
- 5th-6th grade.
Awards?
Yes. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded for each category.
Requirements:
Students will choose and perform a "1 to 3-minute" excerpt from any of Dr. King's speeches or letters.
The 1-3 minute excerpt bust be consecutive lines from the same speech.
The name of the speech/letter must be included in their performance.
Students will perform their 1-3 minute excerpt, in front of a panel of judges.
Prizes will be awarded for each category.
