CELTIC BAND
An LPA after-school club
Beginning: Monday, October 3rd
Club Meeting Day: Monday
Time: 3:00-4:00 (right after school)
Requirements: A student with 1 or more years on ANY instrument is welcome to join the Celtic Band.
Club Focus: This club will focus on teaching its members:
- to "Practice Like a Pro" (PLAP)
- to learn the history and music from and inspired by the great islands of Ireland and Scotland
- to play and perform with their peers in small and large groups
- how to improvise a solo over a backup part.
Attendance is not mandatory but your presence is valuable. Come learn what it means to be a Celtic musician!
Requirements:
- at least 1 year of experience (includes basic note reading capabilities)
- Pianists welcome. However, we have limited space and pianos. which may require taking turns during rehearsals.
- suggested age...5th grade - 9th grade

p.s. Please keep in mind that this is a club with lots of "free" time to practice. If the age of your student requires them to have more supervision, consider waiting until they can benefit from a club structured like this.
