FIRE SAFETY

Safety is of paramount importance, and there's no better time to reinforce our commitment to it than during Safety Week. In light of this, we would like to share some crucial Home Fire Safety Tips to help protect our community and ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in our neighborhood.

 

SMOKE ALARMS SAVE LIVES:

Ensure that your home is equipped with working smoke alarms.

Check the batteries regularly, and replace them at least once a year.

 

HAVE AN ESCAPE PLAN:

Every household should have a clear and well-practiced escape plan.

Make sure every family member knows what to do in case of a fire.

Designate a meeting point outside the house.

 

FIRE EXTINGUISHERS:

Keep fire extinguishers in key locations throughout your home, especially in the kitchen and near fireplaces. Learn how to use them correctly.

 

 

KITCHEN SAFETY:

 Never leave cooking unattended

 Keep flammable items away from the stove

 Install a fire extinguisher in or near the kitchen.

 

ELECTRICAL SAFETY:

Do not overload electrical outlets

Check for frayed wires and replace them.

Use surge protectors to safeguard valuable electronics.

 

HEATING SAFETY:

Maintain heating equipment properly.

Keep flammable materials away from heating sources.

Test your carbon monoxide detector regularly.

 

CANDLES AND OPEN FLAMES:

Use candles in a safe location, away from flammable materials.

Never leave candles unattended.

 

DRYER AND CHIMNEY MAINTENANCE:

Clean your dryer's lint filter after each use.

Schedule regular chimney inspections and cleanings. 

 

 

FIRE SAFETY EDUCATION:

Teach your children about fire safety.

               Encourage them to notify an adult if they find matches or lighters
