EARTHQUAKE SAFETY AWARENESS

It's crucial that we all know how to stay safe during an earthquake. Here are some important tips to keep in mind:

DROP, COVER, & HOLD ON: If you feel the ground shaking, drop to the ground, take cover under a sturdy piece of furniture, and hold on until the shaking stops.

STAY INDOORS: If you're indoors, stay there. Do not run outside as falling debris can be very dangerous.

AWAY FROM WINDOWS: Keep away from windows, glass, and anything that can shatter during the quake.

SAFE SPOTS: Identify safe spots in each room, like under a table or against an interior wall, and teach your family about them.

BE PREPARED: Have an emergency kit ready with water, non-perishable food, flashlights, and first aid supplies.

PLAN WITH YOUR FAMILY: Discuss a family emergency plan, including how to communicate and where to meet after the quake.

SECURE HEAVY OBJECTS: Secure heavy items that could fall during an earthquake, like bookshelves and appliances.

KNOW YOUR SURROUNDINGS: Be aware of your surroundings, especially if you're in an unfamiliar place. Look for safe exits.

LISTEN TO AUTHORITIES: Follow guidance from local authorities and stay updated on the situation through official channels.
